ANALYSIS OF CHATGPT GPTS IN EDUCATION


The purpose of this study is to examine prominent GPTs in the education category based on criteria such as competencies, user satisfaction, creators, and usage rates. The research was conducted in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year and includes 12 prominent GPT tools in the education category. Designed as a qualitative study, the data were analyzed using the document analysis technique. The results show that there are various GPTs specialized in subjects such as mathematics, visualization and analysis, summarization, physics, finance, and machine learning in the field of education. These GPTs are designed to meet specific educational needs. While one tool aims to accelerate learning by providing general information, others offer mathematical solutions, personal tutoring services, and complex visualizations and data analyses. There are also tools that can quickly summarize videos, books, articles, and web content. Additionally, there are tools that provide step-by-step math solutions at every educational level, summarize YouTube videos and web pages, assist in solving physics problems, offer specialized knowledge, graphics, and equations in business and finance, provide comprehensive information on prompt engineering, and support machine learning, data science, or economics. These tools have received high user ratings, indicating satisfaction with their performance. Some stand out with ratings of 4.5, while others have received ratings of 4.2-4.4. Tools with lower ratings have remained at 3.9. These tools are also notable for their popularity and frequency of use. Some GPTs are among the most frequently used with over 500,000 interactions, while others have received over 300,000 and 200,000 interactions. Most GPTs in the education field have various competencies: "Code Interpreter and Data Analysis" is found in 9 tools, "Browsing" and "Images" in 8 tools, and "Actions" in 4 tools. These GPTs offer a wide range of services, such as coding, data analysis, internet information retrieval, and image creation. Thus, they are effective in education by providing up-to-date information, visual support, and the ability to obtain information from external sources.
